the end arrived
I've now been back home for two days. I'm all unpacked and have a job interview tomorrow. and of course i'm in disney depression mode..i don't know where i'm going from here but for now… I’m in Texas. And, as a good friend said, I’ve gotta learn to make the magic without Jiminy Cricket behind me. I’ve spread a little pixie dust here and there, but it’s time to really make an impact! Wish me luck!

the end is near..
I can't believe it tonight i got my last schedule as a disney cp :O
It's just so crazy how many emotions are running through me right now, i'm sad, happy, excited, depressed, etc. Pretty much i'm a rollercoaster especially when my co-worker ashley was signing my autograph book she started crying and then i thought i was going to cry. She looked at me and was like, "lexie i can't do this writing in this is saying goodbye, i'm not ready to say goodbye."
But i know this is not goodbye, i already have plans to see her in november. and i'm making other plans to possibly see some of the roomies in october. this program ending is not goodbye, its see yeah real soon.

13 days till my status switched from CP to CT (Seasonal..bababababyyy) :)
15 days till i'm back home in texas :/ & :)

Spring Advantage 2011 Graduation
In case you couldn't tell by the title of this post.. I graduated :)
Yesterday night at 6 o'clock me and two of my roommates molly & ali got dressed up in our cute spring dresses to go get our certificates and ears. I was excited and nervous at the same time cause i didn't really know what they were going to do. I soon discovered that graduating meant waiting in lots of lines. The first line we waited in was to get our diploma and (wrist bands for food) for completing our program. After that we got in a line to grab our famous mickey mouse graduation ears, then we stood in another line to take pictures with our ears on in front of the completion banner they had set up.
Then we got in line to get our food which was amazingly delicious. There was hot dogs, hamburgers, barbque pork & chicken, corn, mac & chz, baked beans, sweet tea and pink lemonade. After we ate we waited in more lines to take pictures with mickey & minnie, pluto, and daisy. Donald and goofy were there as well but we didn't get a chance to take a picture with them.
We then decided to leave graduation early to go to our favorite park Hollywood Studios :) were we toke pictures in our new grad ears in front of the sorcerers hat and with the walt statue. Then we rode some of our favorite rides tower of terror, great movie ride and star tours (and molly was the rebel spy).
Once we got home I realized that we only have 3 more weeks till i'm back home in Texas, I can't believe that just a few months ago I was meeting my roommates for the first time, I was going to Traditions, Casting and On With the Show. I went through my pictures of my program and I learned that i only have 250 for my entire 7 months i've lived here i feel like i need 300 more. So as one of my goals before i leave is to take as many pictures with my roomies and co-worlers whenever possible.
Well i have work soon I'm working at oscars today :/ but hopefully the time will go by fast.

help list for new cps :)
since my program is almost over i figured id share my knowledge i've learned from my program to all the new incoming cps..enjoy :)
1. ROOMMATES: go big or go home, get the biggest size apartment you can, why because there cheaper and the whole point of the college program is to meet new people from all over the world. don't limit yourself to a one bedroom because your afraid of drama or not liking your roommate.
2. CP BUSES: THEY SUCK PERIOD. no matter how much you luck you have or how much you complain. your bus will be late, break down, be overcrowded or leaking water on the seats. there's no escaping it so just bear with it.
3. IDS: don't stick them in your pocket they will fallout and you will lose them on the bus with little hope of getting them back.
4. HAVE FUN: disney is hard & fun. you will work your butt off (excuse the language) but it will be the most rewarding thing you will ever experience. You will meet people from everywhere, learning new things, and most importantly you will change. Your going to grow and discover things about yourself you never thought possible. so on your days off don't sleep go out to the parks, have fun and enjoy it. you only live once don't let it pass you by :)

update wow it's been awhile
I can't believe it's been six months since I last posted a blog, to catch up on how long that was. my last blog was back when I first arrived in Florida. And now i'm updating right when it's about to end. It's crazy how fast time has flown here, it's weird watching all the new fall & fall advantage cast members getting trained and coming in. i feel like omg they look so nervous but hey that was me 6 months ago :)
here's a little catch up on all i've done in florida
went to Universal/ Islands of Adventure...Harry Potter land i have to admit was awesome better than expected.
went to Seaworld..Manta best roller coaster ever period.
I survived ESPN the Weekend and Star Wars Weekend. out of the two crazy weekends i have to admit star wars was my favorite no not because I had to work till 3 am, but what i did after i clocked out every weekend me and my coworkers would go to ihop or alehouse or steak and sheak. those were some of the best nights of my life with memories i'll carry with me long after the program is done.
went to bdubs on wednesday night alot :)
All the spring kiddos left, meaning I lost my roommate kim, andy, maggie and megan. Its hard losing people on the cp no matter what anyone says.
But soon it will be me and my roommates leaving, we will parting ways and heading back to our old lives. Its crazy to think about going back to my old life when i feel like my life here has only just begun.
It's all bittersweet I miss home my family & friends but i'll miss everyone here my roommates & coworkers. I definitely will be spending my last month in florida going out and doing everything i can so i have no regrets.

failsauce
so i've failed y'all at updating my blog since i've checked it :/ my bad i guess it's time i'll finally catch everyone up on my fabulous life here in florida
i checked in on january 26th with my 3 other roommates maria, allision and megan. During checkin they gave me and my already found roomies a chance to add more to our group so we decided to expand to a four bedroom at CHATHAM :). When we were at casting i found out that i would be working at HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS RIGHT BLOCK MERCHANDISE :) meaning i would work in the stores from the sorcerers hat all the way down to crossroads & oscars the stroller rentals. After filling out all the paperwork, we went to our apartment and met our other new roomies kim, molly, andrea, and ali.
of course we went to the welcome party at patterson which is where we met our two best guy friends andy and jimmy. now skipping a week, i passed my assessment for merchandise, on my second day without a trainer i got a call at the apartment they told me that i was being deployed..at first i was like whhhhhaaaattttt i just got here. When i got back to work i found out that i was being deployed to package pickup at hollywood studios :)
which is were i still work 4 weeks later and i'm loving it. i get to drive a disney company van and go all around backstage at attractions & giftshops to pick up the stores packages.
On the roommates part I love my roomies there my second family, we literally all hangout every chance we get. like today we went to epcot then downtown disney.
ohh and for anyone who wanted to know heres the roommate pairing & where we all work

I'm here...checkin tomorrow
Sorry it's been awhile it's just been so crazy since i've been here. time to play catch up.
On January 24th, me and my mom caught an 8 am flight to orlando from Houston. Once we got to orlando we picked up a lot of my stuff we shipped here to my moms office, then we ate lunch & checked in to Saratoga Springs. After that we did a Walmart to grab things for my disney apartment that i didn't have. the only thing we have left is food & cleaning supplies for the apartment. Then we went to California Grill at the contemporary resort for dinner. We ended the night with a shopping trip to downtown disney.
On January 25th (today): me and my mom went to hollywood studios, we rode rockin roller coaster & toy story twice. we watched american idol, learned how to draw donald at the animation class. and went exploring for vinylmations. and once again we ended our night with some earl of sandwhich for dinner and more downtown disney shopping.
I'm so excited tomorrow for checkin, can't wait to find out where i'm working

1 More Day
I can't believe how fast time just flew by, just a few months ago i was waiting for applications to go up, then i was waiting for my phone interview, then i was waiting to find out if i had been accepted, then i was waiting to finally go to FLORIDA :)
well i can officially say i have 1 more day in Houston, Texas. And i'm sad and excited at the same time, it's crazy how many emotions i'm feeling right now.
Especially yesterday, i had my going away party and all of my family was there and of course so was my boyfriend Robert. We hung out, took tons of pictures, ate pizza and of course .....
When the party was over it was so hard to say my goodbyes i cried and so did my family members. But today was definitely one of the best days i've spent with my entire family... here's some pictures from my wonderful day :)

update :)
sorry it's been awhile since my last blog post i figured i'd update everyone of what's been going on in my world.
so the last thing i told y'all was that me and my ex-roomie emily decided to go our separate ways because we had different wants for the apartment size.
Well i'm happy to tell y'all that on Wednesday afternoon thanks to the wonderful spring wdwcp facebook group i now have new roommates :)
I will be rooming with Megan she's from the Miami, Florida area and she's gonna be working in QSF&B at disney. I also gained two new apartment mates Maria from the Miami area as well and her roomie Allison. So in grand total there's 4 of us so far. I think Maria is still looking for two or more people to make our apartment into a 6 or 8 bedroom. which is good cause then i can meet new people.
On countdown i have 3 days left until disney. And i'm super excited my family is having a big going away party for me this saturday and i can't wait. my mom got me a disney princess cake just for the occasion and i can't wait to eat it yummy.
But that's pretty much it, tomorrow i will be spending having a mother-daughter day out and then i will be packing yay.

change
so today went not how i expected it too...
i talked to my roommate emily, and turns out we have a disagreement about what size apartment we should have. emily only wants a one bedroom i wanted to have at least a 2 or 3 bedroom. since we both can't get what we want and neither of us wanted to adjust to the other we decided it was best if we weren't roommates any more :/
which sucks but its for the best at least she'll get what she wants and i get what i want. now the problem is getting housing to answer my email, yes i know its saturday but it's frustrating i want to roommate matching thing fixed already so i can focus on finding a new one on facebook or allowing disney to find one for me. now i just have to wait yet again.
anyways on a more positive note i have more stuff packed and ready to go :) and i made a list of what i want to make sure i do while i'm at disney.
1. Go to the water parks/ all four disney parks as much as possible
2. Go to Universal/ Islands of Adventure & Harry Potter world
3. Take as many behind the scenes tours at disney as i can
4. Write on my blog & keep up with my vlog
5. Make tons of new friends!
6. Go to Seaworld and ride Manta :)
7. Go to a beach
8. Send tons of postcards to boyfriend & friends
9. Take tons of pictures & videos
10. Have LOTS OF FUN!!!

Last Day at my job, Boston's
Today wow it was definitely not what i expected.
Going to work tonight for the last time didn't settle in until i pulled into the parking lot and started to walk inside the building. I kept thinking wow this is the last time i'm ever going to clock in to this place. It made me feel like wow me moving is actually happening in the next weeks.
Anyways at work tonight i got to work with my favorite manager stacey, i worked with my co-hostess buddy christan
and had fun with all the servers; daniel, chris, shannon, mayra, and caitlyn.
We had a non-busy night at Boston's tonight which was great cause i got to spend my last night at work just chilling and having fun with my co-workers. we basically played rock, paper, scissor and were spinning serving trays on our fingers all night.
When it came time to finally clock out all of the servers and my hostess buddy gave me hug and good wishes for my journey to florida. i promised them that i would visit before my journey to florida began because i can't miss my other fave managers b-day party.

What I will miss
During my first post i kinda forgot to tell y'all a little bit about myself so i figured i'd start on this one
For starters in case y'all don't know i'm Lexie Mankin i'm 19 years old i turn 20 while i'm on the wdwcp in february :)
I'm from Houston, Texas & I'm a Sophomore at Lone Star College University Park
now that y'all know a little bit more about me i'll get to the real reason why i made this blog.
so i know i'm probably doing this too early since i still have 13 days left till i leave but after reading all the excitement and fun all of the first group of spring arrivals had at checkin made me realize that my date isn't that far away.
And i know there will be tons of things i will miss when i'm florida.
1. My amazing boyfriend Robert Douglas
we've been dating for over a year now and this is the first time we've ever been apart for so long, i know it's gonna be crazy but we are sticking together no matter what the distance.
2. My family
especially my mom :) my mom has been my backbone through this entire process with wdwcp she is just as excited as i am. and thankfully will be going with me when i checkin to help me move in.
3. My best friend Amber Cullins
this is the first semester that we aren't in every single class together. me and this girlie do everything together we've worked at the same job, take the same classes, hangout pretty much all the time. it's gonna be hard/ different without having her by my side at disney.
4. My pets Abby, Sabrina, Bubbles & my fishies (Sherbet and Soren)
i will miss my cuddle buddy cat abby at nights when i'm in florida and i'll miss my running buddy doggie bubbles
5. My grandparents
they come by and visit my family literally every other day always bringing over food them made from scratch i will miss them and these regular visits while i'm in florida
6. Tex-Mex :/ goodbye awesome mexican food
my family eats mexican food probably at least twice a week, i've tried florida mexican food i'm sorry it's just not the same
7. Late night Whataburger runs
oohh so many memories with my friends going up to whataburger at 3 or 4 am for after party munchies :) p.s. whataburgers can't be found in florida only texas
8. SWEET TEA
i will miss you texas sweet tea from some of my favorite places like spring creek bbq, mcalisters, cluckers, & red robin.
9. My car
it will be weird not having to drive myself places for 7 months, i will be relying on friends or the buses to get me where i need to go
10. My Wii
i don't have enough room to bring the wii with me so it has to stay behind :/ which saddens me cause i just got all these awesome new games for it for christmas.
but those are just a top 10 list of the things i will miss the most

so i know i'm probably doing this too early since i still have 13 days left till i leave but after reading all the excitement and fun all of the first group of spring arrivals had at checkin made me realize that my date isn't that far away.
And i know there will be tons of things i will miss when i'm florida.
1. My amazing boyfriend Robert Douglas
we've been dating for over a year now and this is the first time we've ever been apart for so long, i know it's gonna be crazy but we are sticking together no matter what the distance.
2. My family
especially my mom :) my mom has been my backbone through this entire process with wdwcp she is just as excited as i am. and thankfully will be going with me when i checkin to help me move in.
3. My best friend Amber Cullins
this is the first semester that we aren't in every single class together. me and this girlie do everything together we've worked at the same job, take the same classes, hangout pretty much all the time. it's gonna be hard/ different without having her by my side at disney.
4. My pets Abby, Sabrina, Bubbles & my fishies (Sherbet and Soren)
i will miss my cuddle buddy cat abby at nights when i'm in florida and i'll miss my running buddy doggie bubbles
5. My grandparents
they come by and visit my family literally every other day always bringing over food them made from scratch i will miss them and these regular visits while i'm in florida
6. Tex-Mex :/ goodbye awesome mexican food
my family eats mexican food probably at least twice a week, i've tried florida mexican food i'm sorry it's just not the same
7. Late night Whataburger runs
oohh so many memories with my friends going up to whataburger at 3 or 4 am for after party munchies :) p.s. whataburgers can't be found in florida only texas
8. SWEET TEA
i will miss you texas sweet tea from some of my favorite places like spring creek bbq, mcalisters, cluckers, & red robin.
9. My car
it will be weird not having to drive myself places for 7 months, i will be relying on friends or the buses to get me where i need to go
10. My Wii
i don't have enough room to bring the wii with me so it has to stay behind :/ which saddens me cause i just got all these awesome new games for it for christmas.
but those are just a top 10 list of the things i will miss the most

My dream is really coming true. Things like this don't happen every day.
I am fortunate enough to be a future WDWCP Merchandise Cast Member for the Spring Advantage 2011 season. That's right, in 13 days I will be a Walt Disney World Cast Member. Yeah, I still can't believe this is really happening to me!
From The Beginning
Applications went up on August 18, 2010. I applied that day passed my web interview and called right after from a starbucks to schedule my phone interview for the 20th. When the 20th came around I was super nervous because this was the first time i've applied. I don't remember much of my interview at all because I was super nervous but what i do remember was that my interviewer was really nice and super fun to talk too. But I can tell you that my top 3 roles were: 1) attractions 2) merchandise and 3) photopass photographer.
After 3 weeks, acceptances started to go out! And mine was in the first batch. I got accepted on september 4th, 2010 :) as merchandise for the spring advantage 2011 season.
I picked january 26th- august 12th for my season arrival/departure dates. But i'll be arriving to orlando by plane on january 24th.
Not long after my acceptance i found my roomie Emily on the facebook group, and the funny thing was we went to the same high school & college but we never met each other until the facebook group.
Last night i started packing and i got one suitcase packed :) my boyfriend thinks i'm crazy for packing so early but i love packing it makes me realize how close i'm getting to leaving houston, texas for the magical disney world of orlando, florida.
Tomorrow is my last day at my job at Boston's it's a bitersweet moment i love/ hate some of the people i work with but overall i enjoyed my time there and won't ever forget them. especially my favorite manager stacey :) and my new found friends erika, diana, caitlyn, kia, yasmin, vicky, melissa, bobby, daniel, and ace.
